Organised by the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), the AACR Annual Meeting was successfully held in San Diego from 5 April to 10 April 2024.
We are delighted to share that Professor Tak Mak and Professor Suet Yi Leung, Co-Directors of COI, were invited to showcase their groundbreaking research and share valuable insights with audience worldwide.
Professor Mak captivated the audience with his research on “Metabolic and neural regulation of immunity and cancer”. Meanwhile, Professor Leung chaired a session and presented her research findings on “Unraveling the role of cell-cell and cell matrix adhesion dependency in cancer evolution using human gastric organoids”.
Other COI researchers also actively took part in the event, including Dr. Kenneth Kwan, Post-doctoral Fellow, presenting his research project titled "BCAT1 promotes HCC metabolic reprogramming and survival through HIF-1α stabilization" during an engaging poster session.
The AACR Annual Meeting serves as the focal point of the cancer research community, bringing together scientists, clinicians, healthcare professionals, survivors, patients, and advocates to exchange the latest advances in cancer science and medicine.
We are excited for more progress in our research and to create a supportive environment that helps young scientists grow and succeed.
