COI Welcomes HKSTP Global Interns at Lunch Meetup
Last week, with the support of HKSTP’s Talent Acquisition Team, we had the pleasure of hosting a lunch meetup for young international talents participating in HKSTP’s Global Internship Program. The programme brings together students from the leading universities around the world, of diverse backgrounds and disciplines, with the goal of building an international talent pool in Hong Kong.
The interns met Ms. Wanda Li, Chief Operating Officer of COI and Prof. Helen Yan, Principal Investigator and Project Leader of COI’s organoid platform. Ms. Li started the session by introducing COI’s mission and operations, emphasizing the importance of nurturing next-generation talent and demonstrating how multidisciplinary collaboration at COI plays a crucial role in addressing complex challenges like cancer research, drug discovery, and commercialization. Over lunch, Prof. Yan and the interns exchanged perspectives on scientific research, career development and fostering a deeper understanding between COI and the wider innovation and biotechnology ecosystem.
We extend our sincere thanks to HKSTP Talent Acquisition team for organizing the meetup, making the exchange possible and connecting us with their global talent network. We also thank the interns for their enthusiasm and their thoughtful contributions throughout the meetup. We look forward to deepening our collaboration with HKSTP and their talent network in the years ahead.
COI is looking for talented individuals to join us on our journey to advance cancer research and improve outcomes for patients worldwide. We welcome people from diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to join our Centre.
