Prof. Alan Wong Receives APBEC Young Scholars 2026-2027 Award

Congratulations to Prof. Alan Wong, Project Leader at the Centre for Oncology and Immunology (COI) and Associate Professor at the School of Biomedical Sciences, The University of Hong Kong, on receiving the APBEC Young Scholars 2026-2027 Award.
This prestigious award is presented by the Asia Pacific Biomedical Engineering Consortium (APBEC), to recognise promising early-career researchers in biomedical engineering. APBEC is a strategic partnership encompassing six leading regional institutions across Asia: Tsinghua University, Seoul National University, University of Tokyo, National Taiwan University, National University of Singapore, and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Through the collaboration, APBEC is dedicated to advancing the biomedical engineering field and solving complex healthcare challenges through joint multidisciplinary research.
Prof. Wong was selected for his integrative research approach, which leverages synthetic biology, CRISPR-based genome engineering, and combinatorial genetics to elucidate the genetic basis of human diseases and engineering advanced gene-editing tools to deliver novel biomedical applications.
